Family History is my passion! I have been researching for family, friends and others for over 35 years now so I am delighted to be running the Family History Course for the WEA at the Centenary Chapel in Camborne. Much of this research was completed before the Internet so I know how it feels to hold that 200 year old document in your hands! More recent research has been via the Internet which has proved to be a great tool in finding those lost ancestors. I am an Associate Member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA), a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and a member of the Society of Genealogists. I am also a volunteer at the Cornwall Family History Society in Truro, helping visitors find their long, lost ancestors, and am currently helping to transcribe documents, at Lanhydrock House near Bodmin, on a project run by the Cornwall Record Office.
I began teaching over 30 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. I have taught every age group, including ‘A’ Level students, and have run numerous courses for teachers and other adults. I have a degree in History and American Studies and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
I am really looking forward to helping you discover your family history. We will try to find out as much as possible about who your family were and how they lived. I am sure it will turn out to be fascinating and we will have some fun on the way!
